Kuon the Wanderer

The stars are beginning to disappear.

Across the Lantern World, ancient gods fade, strange calamities spread, and kingdoms quietly fall apart. The great churches scatter young priestesses across the world to find what can stand against the dark — heroes, prophets, anyone who might still matter. Most will fail.

Kuon wants nothing to do with any of it.

A quiet frog demi-human who prefers rain, warm tea, and empty roads, Kuon wanders from town to town with Quinn, a tiny bat who was once a feared vampire queen. Then he meets Iyra, an earnest priestess chasing a prophecy she does not fully understand, and Roan, a celebrated hero who has been celebrated for victories he barely survived. Slowly, against his preference, their road becomes one road.

As more stars go dark and the world dreams more loudly of its own ending, the four travelers walk on — toward the Last Library, where gods, monsters, and stories alike are waiting to be remembered.
